[Addendum]
Dan. 7:12 “As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but an extension of life was granted to them for an appointed period of time. 27 ‘Then the sovereignty, the dominion and the greatness of all the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the people of the saints of the Highest One; His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all the dominions will serve and obey Him.’”
We now come to discussing the final practical outworkings that will display the Body’s finally consummated role of authority over the remaining beasts of the earth at the Lord’s return. This discussion fleshes out more fully the issues surrounding the transfer of the anointing for world rulership from the beasts to the Body previously discussed in Part VII where we described the impending Moses Era, and in Part VIII where we studied the authority transfer from Saul to David.
The closer we come to the time of the Lord’s physical return and the fully established revelation of His earthly kingdom, the more shaken are to become the paradigms of the most common everyday functions of life as we have known them. While we eagerly profess to be open to “change” by the Spirit and “new moves” of God, there are simply some areas of life and thought that are so much a part of even the most spiritually perceptive among us that it has never dawned on us that they might someday change.
One of these areas of life is the realm of human government in the earth. I’m not talking about “the rule of men in the church.” I am talking about the literal rule of the human governmental structures of society under which we all live as citizens of nations, states, cities and towns. The rule of mankind in the earth is shortly to be abolished. While there is much prophecy about the return of the Lord and about the “establishment of the kingdom,” in practice, there is little connection to this otherwise unimaginable reality.
In fact, just the opposite is happening. Prophecy is now being used worldwide to continually shore up, preserve and support the policies of human government. And while we may be eager for changes in the Spirit and the moves of God, any vision on our parts toward the replacement of human government by the Lord and His Body can’t seem to get beyond, “since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they have from the beginning.”
But the Lord is now moving to awaken us to the imminence of this deepest of changes in the administration of the earth. He is moving now because there is a preparation required for being able to enter such a transition with as little contortion as possible. So allow your mindset concerning human government to begin shaking as you ponder the following thoughts.
When the kingdom of God comes into that final place of increase where it actually supplants the kingdoms of this world and takes them captive, it will be administrated by people who are from another world. It will be administered by immortals. It will be governed by those who have come into perfected conformity to the Lord—by those who have finally put off death to live after the power of an endless life—by those who have undergone complete identity transformation such that they have replaced all human allegiances with allegiance only to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
The issue of identity transformation is key here and cannot be overstated. At the heart of the Lord’s nearing takeover of earth is a people who have shed all loyalties to humanly identified nations and their governments at every level. They are a people who will have come to the point of renouncing all citizenship in the governmental systems of this world. For when the Lord rules, there will be no pledge of allegiance by men to any other authority.
Perhaps you have never stopped to perceive the ramifications of what the Lord’s return will bring. But if you believe these are the end times, and that the Lord’s return is indeed near, then you are required to believe that there are changes to be gradually demanded of you in your relationship to human government if you expect to have any part in the new administration.
For thousands of years now, we have lived under a relatively one-sided paradigm as believers in relationship to human government. Under that paradigm, we have been taught that loyalty to human government is a high calling and requisite of God in the earth. Well, it is indeed true that, under these times of the gentiles, the Lord has required submission on our part—both as Jews and gentiles—to the authority exercised by the beasts of the earth. God has clearly stated in both the Old and New Testaments that He has ordained these powers.
Specifically, the beasts have been ordained as a check upon absolute lawlessness in the earth. It is not that they have been ordained because they are “intrinsically” good, but because they are a lesser evil in check of a greater evil. Such alone is the measure of their “goodness” as referred to by Paul in Romans 13:4. (As Jesus said, “There is only one who is good, and that is God.”)
So throughout the ages of gentile empires, and throughout our own immediate lifetimes, we have been brought up in our schools and societies to be good, law abiding citizens, and in some quarters, to be upright participants ourselves in the processes and systems of human government. In fact, our understanding in the churches has gone well beyond submission. We have been taught that we must be loyal to human government (something which the scriptures do not teach.)
But here, at the end of this age of gentiles, a new light is beginning to dawn. This light is now challenging the basic inherited belief structure concerning our relationship to human government as believers. It is not a spirit of rebellion. Far from it. Rather, it is a call to a new and higher loyalty to the Kingdom of God. It is a light revealing to us for the first time who we truly are in Christ beyond the natural realms of human government and lineage in Adam.
And why should this not be if we believe the book of Daniel and we believe we are in the end times of which he speaks? If we believe Daniel when he says the dominion of the beasts is taken away at Christ’s return, and that Nebuchadnezzar’s statue of empires is brought to an end at that return, and if we believe we are at the threshold of the time of which he speaks, should we not be expecting a new challenge to our previous age-long predisposition to loyalty to human governments? Should we not expect the Father to begin really changing our perception as Christ’s Body in relation to the beasts of the field?
Even so new light is now arising to challenge what has become entrenched darkness in the church, including the prophetic church. To this hour, the prophetic church at large is working overtime to reinforce our loyalties and concept of submission to beast government as evidence of our obedience to God. This is particularly true in the west.
But the new glow on the horizon is transforming our identities to the point that we are no longer able to yield blind spiritually-uninformed submission to human governments, much less thoughtless loyalty. Who we truly are as the Body—being raised to shortly receive dominion from the Father, previously held by the beasts—is beginning to dawn on us.
